Haystack Connections Magazine Fall 2017

The Fall 2017 issue of Haystack Connections Magazine is out! Haystack Connections reports the news from the Haystack community around the world. You’ll find updates on the development of working groups, new tagging models, reference implementations, complimentary applications, and success stories from the community.

As a member of Project Haystack, our goal is to make device data easier to use across applications of all types through the standardization of semantic data models and web services. Project Haystack is an open source initiative with a robust community of contributors.

Why is this important?

The Haystack Community is making big strides in the world of tagging and data modeling and this magazine is documentation of it! With 50 pages of content from members around the world, this latest issue provides clear evidence of the success and continued adoption of Haystack, and the growth of the community.

J2 Innovations developed the FIN Framework as an applications server technology built upon the Project Haystack standard to encourage community collaboration. Our product FIN Stack is the first BAS software that utilizes tagging and data modeling to make systems integration faster, easier, and better.

J2 Innovations Contributions

J2 is excited to have made some contributions to this latest Haystack Magazine issue. In the Haystack Connect Event section you’ll find a link to Steven Frank’s and Scott Muench’s presentation on the fundamentals of tagging and data modeling. The presentation will take you through a brief history of building automation tools and highlight the payoffs gained as a result of our progress.

In the Voices section you’ll find an article about our partnership with NREL and in the social media curation section, you’ll find Jason’s interview with Jason Houck and our University of Richmond Success Story.
