J2 Innovations Presents at NREL IN2 Summit

As you may know, we’ve been beta-testing the newest FIN feature, Automated Commissioning with the team at NREL, the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Automated Commissioning brings together Project Haystack, tagging and data modeling, and the FIN framework and automates the commissioning process.

This week, Scott Muench, our VP of Marketing, presented the FIN framework and collaboration with NREL to attendees at the Innovation Incubator (IN2) Summit.

About the IN2 Summit

The Innovation Incubator (IN2) Summit, is a full-day, invitation-only working session that brought together IN2 stakeholders, subject matter experts and investors to share knowledge, learn from one another, and help inform the direction of IN2 toward their goal of creating sustainable communities.

The Pitch

Scott had 5 minutes to show just how powerful FIN framework is, specifically how Haystack Tagging enables FIN’s Automated Commissioning feature in conjunction with Energy Plus simulation software. The breakthrough is that through this effort with NREL, applications using Haystack protocol can now connect to any simulated building and weather conditions in real time!
